Hi!
I currently have a SQL cluster 2008 R2 ENT running 2 SQL instances on a single node Node1. The OS is win server 2008 R2 ent and the disks for both the instances are presented to Node1.
Node1 is put into production and we would want to add a second node Node2 to the existing cluster. I think below are the steps to perform this but would want to get it verified by the experts here.
1) Build second node Node 2 (OS with latest patches, same amount of NIC cards/drivers)
2) Present the disks in SAN to Node2 (the same disks presented to Node1 - via disk management etc)
3) Run failover clustering on Node2 and add to Node1
4) Run SQL installation from Node2 to add it to SQL clustering
Appreciate if someone can validate these steps and add if I am missing any, as this env is already in production and I don't want to mess up anything.
Many thanks
Hugo
