Can't install Database Engine Service

I am having issues when installing SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition as it keeps failing to install the Database Engine Service. Not sure why it's not installing as I had it installed before a while back before I had to reset my computer. I'm using Windows 8 Professional in case that helps any. Also here is the message that pops up when it fails:

I also tried the steps at the end of the discussion of this link but it didn't resolve the issue. I appreciate any help you all can give me to resolve this issue.
