I have a program that is running SQL 2008 and can access without issue when coming in from local subnet. I have a remote machine with VPN configured that is part of the domain, drives are mapped and it can browse the entire SQL directory structure. I installed Management Studio on the remote machine and connected to the SQL DB. When I try and launch the Program (Lytec 2014) it will not find the SQL DB under browse and if I manually put in the server name (or IP address) and the DB instance I get the Access to path is denied error. I suspect that maybe there is a problem with reverse authentication or something since everything works fine on site but not from the remote. I've looked at everything I can think of...remote access is turned on, the IP address of the SQL server is enabled and active and I have no errors that I can find in the logs. Curious that I can connect with Management Studio but not the application. Any help appreciated. I'm a novice when it comes to SQL but this is probably a quick fix for a SQL guru. Any help greatly appreciated.

Michael
