I have an old production server running SQL Server 2000. I am trying to install a named instance of SQL Server 2005 on the machine as well. During the install I get the error "An installation package for the production Microsoft SQL Server Native Client cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'sqlncli.msi'.
I understand that the fix for this is to remove the current verion of SQL Server Native Client and rerun the install. Since I have a production application that uses the SQL Server 2000 instance will uninstalling SQL Server Native Client affect the application?
