Please do anyone have a fix for this Report Builder error , see below :

I have followed the fix suggested on this site to replace interop.shdocvw_dll_deploy_64 with interop.shdocvw.dll.deploy . my colleague has done this before when Hotfix 7462 caused a problem and it worked but now the same problem has re-surfaced . Please if you have a fix for this let me know .

Since a couple a day, t tried to install sql server 2017 Dev on Win 10.  Everything installs fine but except 2 components "Client Tools Sdk" and "Client Tools Backwards Compatibility".    <o:p></o:p>

Before installation, I removed sql server 2014, 2016, ssdt for vs2015/17.   In the log, I see i have a problem of dependency, I am not able to understand.    <o:p></o:p>

Could you help me solve this issue?

When I installate the server, the program show me the problem: Error writing to file: Microsoft.SqlServer.TransferLoginsTaskUI.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory. 

What should I do with it? Help me

3 dedicated VMS running SQL server 2017  (sharing 12 cores of Xeon 1670 v2 (3.5Ghz) with 64gb ram and SSD) 

vs

1 VMS running MS SQL Server 2014  (sharing 12 cores of Xeon 1670 v2 (3.5Ghz) with 64gb ram and SSD) 

Why after deploying everything the performance of 3 dedicated PC's(VMS) with SQL servers 2017 were actually equivalent to the configuration with SQL server 2014 running all DBs (8) on single VM.

I installed sql server management studio 2012 about 3 months ago to test drive and from time to time I'll attempt to change my background color of the TSql editor "In the fonts and colors option under tools"; however, the entire studio crashes and restarts.

This has been ongoing since I first installed it 3 or 4 months ago, and have waited on posting to a fourm for help, assuming I am not the only one this is happening to I've waited for an update that might fix the issue.

I've got to start on some heavy scripting and that god awful white background kills my eyes. I've got to have a black background or my work day is cut off by about 3 hours becuase of strain.

What can I provide to someone that would help me with this?

I am trying to install SQL Server 2014 express edition on my Windows 7 64 Bit system, but unfortunately, everything I have tried so far has resulted in the same error.

Error: 1723 There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this installation to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

I have tried all the possible solutions that I found online. So please refrain from posting a link to another blog or forum because chances are that I have already tried that.

Things that I have tried:

• Giving myself/Everyone "Full Control" over the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp
• Disabling .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 and then re-enabling.
• Installing sqlncli.msi manually from cmd with Administrative Privileges (Note that this too fails with the same error).
• Removing all instances and traces (registry values, folders, uninstalling) of SQL Server 2008 R2 installed previously on my machine. 
• Downloading SQL Server from Microsoft's website again (in case the previous installer was corrupted), performed checksum and validated the installer.
• Making sure that I have Service Pack 1 installed for my operating system.
• Resetting windows installer.

I am aware that there are multiple threads with the same issue, but none have been able to resolve this for me. 

It is really urgent for me to resolve this and install the package over the weekend. Any help would be really appreciated.

Note: I am unable to add the links to the log files as of now, but would do so ASAP.

I am trying to update MS SQL Server 2008 R2 to 2016.

I got a error message "There are no features selected for upgrade". I have to cancel the installation at the end.

I searched forums and no solution works for me.

I need some SQL help. I know very little about SQL. I'm trying to install a product from Thomson Reuters called Practice CS. It uses SQL and will install SQL during it's installation. The install of Database Engine Services and SQL Server replication fails and the error in the subject pops up. The error code is 945.

This client uses many Thomson Reuters products and Intuit products. They have SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2014, and SQL Server 2016, all with associated components. And I don't understand why they need all 3 versions. I really need someone who knows SQL well to remote in with me and see what needs to be done to clean this server up and get their 3rd party LOB apps running.

SQL Server Agents fails on a two node multisubnet 2016 SQL FCI. It seems like the SQL Server Agent Alias to local host name is required. Why is this happening, and can an alias not be required?
